The Franklin Police Department fully supports our local D.A.R.E. program. With two high schools, one jr. high school, three elementary schools, and numerous day care schools there are many opportunities to reach our future at a very young age. The D.A.R.E. program teaches these young people the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse along with the dangers of violence. Our D.A.R.E. officer, Lt. Chris Freeman, spends much of his day in the classroom not only teaching, but involving his students. Lt. Freeman has been doing an excellent job with these students since becoming the D.A.R.E. officer. A father himself, Lt. Freeman wants these young people to know that drugs, alcohol, and vilolence are not the things to fill a mind with.
